These changes are designed to make sure that all healthcare workers in Canada are properly prepared to provide care and meet the needs of their patients.   Even if you’ve been working in the healthcare field for many years, it’s important to stay up-to-date on these changes. The Canadian government has recently announced an improved pathway for healthcare workers to obtain permanent residency.   This new pathway will make it easier for healthcare workers with the skills and experience that are in high demand in Canada to obtain permanent residency. It will also help to address the current shortage of healthcare workers in Canada.   Workers are in limited supply across various businesses, including the health sector, as a result of the pandemic. But in order to gain high-caliber positions in healthcare, health professionals with overseas education frequently encounter difficulties in having their qualifications recognized in Canada. The Government of Canada is investing in initiatives that will assist talented new immigrants in using their education and talents sooner in order to give this goal top priority.   Carla Qualtrough, minister of employment, workforce development, and disability inclusion, announced financing for nine initiatives under the program for the recognition of foreign credentials. This investment will enhance the acceptance of international credentials and assist qualified immigrants in acquiring Canadian job experience in the healthcare industry. Along with officials from the Canadian Council for Practical Nurse Regulators, McGill University’s School of Physical & Occupational  Therapy, and the Halton Multicultural Council (HMC) Connections, Minister Qualtrough made the announcement. The Council will be able to help highly qualified healthcare professionals with overseas training gain Canadian work experience through this investment, with an emphasis on helping them find long-term sustainable employment in their field of study. The current pandemic and future demand for the health and social service sectors will be reduced as a result of this.   Finally, funding is being provided for the Language Proficiency Requirements for Safe Nursing Practice in Canada project run by the Canadian Council for Practical Nurse Regulators. The Council will evaluate, update, and validate the benchmarks for acceptable English and French language ability level in the licensing and registration of internationally educated nurses in Canada with the use of this investment.   Find out if you qualify as a healthcare worker!   Tel: (416) 604-2669 or email us at  info@immigrationmatters.info    Gunness & Associates has helped thousands of people successfully immigrate to Canada with their families. Medical Examination

Ottawa Exempted Certain Applicants From The Medical Examination Requirement On October 12, 2022,

Ottawa Exempted Certain Applicants From The Medical Examination Requirement On October 12, 2022, the Government of Canada announced that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) implemented a temporary public policy exempting certain foreign nationals from submitting an immigration medical examination (IME). This will fasten the processing of applications and allow applicants to obtain temporary or permanent resident status much more quickly. This exemption applies to foreign nationals who have a new or pending application for permanent or temporary residence, made from within Canada, or have completed an immigration medical exam in the last 5 years.   In order to qualify for this exemption, foreign nationals must: A fresh or pending application for a permanent resident visa, permanent residency, or temporary residence submitted from within Canada completed a recent immigration medical examination, posed no risk to public health or safety, or, as needed, reported to public health authorities for monitoring. Applicants must provide their individual medical identification number from their prior physical when submitting an application. Until October 6, 2024, the temporary public policy will be in force.   As part of this commitment, the temporary public policy strives to improve client service, enable quicker application processing, and streamline the application process for low-risk applicants while efficiently addressing public health concerns. Between May 2021 and March 2022, IRCC implemented two temporary public policies that were similar to each other and did away with the requirement for a second IME. The solutions sped up processing and reduced costs by streamlining the application procedure. Over 85,000 low-risk applicants benefited from the first two temporary public policies, and it is anticipated that this most recent policy will help over 180,000 more people.   What is a Medical Examination? An individual who has just immigrated to Canada may undergo medical surveillance to ensure that their dormant tuberculosis has not become active. Anyone who was identified with inactive tuberculosis during their immigration medical test must undergo medical surveillance (IME). Medical monitoring makes sure that the right care can be given, which in turn helps to protect Canadians’ health and safety.   The only medical condition that currently necessitates medical surveillance is inactive TB.   To find out more details about the “Ottawa Exempted Certain Applicants From The Medical Examination Requirement”, you can contact one of our immigration specialists at  Gunness & Associates.   Tel: (416) 604-2669  Email: info@immigrationmatters.info    Gunness & Associates has helped thousands of people successfully immigrate to Canada with their families. Canada welcomes a record number of parents and grandparents

Canada welcomes a record number of parents and grandparents Many families are being reunited in Canada through the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP), and this number will likely exceed the target set for 2022-2024. Under the immigration plan, Ottawa had aimed to bring in 25,000 parents and grandparents this year under the PGP and then raise the target to 28,500 new permanent residents next year. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) statistics, for the first seven months of 2022, Canada is expected to welcome 29,091 new permanent residents under the PGP. This prediction is based on the existing trend, which has seen 16,970 new permanent residents enter Canada through that program in the first seven months of this year and is expected to continue through the rest of 2022.   There has been a record for more new permanent residents gradually entering Canada through the PGP in the first seven months of this year. In April, 2,403 immigrants became permanent residents as a consequence of the PGP. When compared to the previous month, there had been 692 more new permanent residents in May, or around 28.8% of the total, and another 10.5 percent in June, bringing the total to 3,420. Under the PGP, there were 2,910 fewer new permanent residents in July than in June. But it is clear that the number of new permanent residents approved under the PGP is increasing and is now closer to the highest number allowed under the Immigration Level Plan.   29091 candidates will be welcomed to Canada through PGP in 2022. According to data, the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will allow 29091 permanent residents to enter Canada in 2022. This greatly exceeds the target set for the Parents and Grandparents Program in the Immigration Levels Plan 2022–24. (PGP). According to the Immigration Levels Plan, the program’s real aim was 25000 for 2022.  PGP for the year may range between 19000 and 31000. Therefore, the expected number of immigrants under the program remains within the specified range. The total number of PGP immigrants who arrived in Canada in 2019, the last full year before the pandemic, was 22010. And this year, 7081 more applicants (32.2%) will benefit from the program to immigrate to Canada.   What is the Parents and Grandparents Program? In recent years, the Parents and Grandparents Program has experienced remarkable popularity among immigrants to Canada. Canada’s decision to raise the program’s aim demonstrates its dedication to maintaining family reunification as a key component of its immigration policy. The PGP Program is a great option for those who wish to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada.  Once a year, the Parents and Grandparents Program opens. It allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents to immigrate to Canada.   To find out more details about the process of the Parents and Grandparents Program. Canada to welcome 15000 Parents and Grandparents

Canada to welcome 15000 Parents and Grandparents The opening of the Parents and Grandparents Program sponsorship intake and the acceptance of up to 15,000 applications in 2022 show the government’s commitment to family reunification while strengthening Canada’s immigration system, which builds on recently announced improvements to the parents and grandparents super visa. Says’ Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Sean Fraser’   It was announced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on October 11, 2022, that the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will accept 15,000 applications from Canadian citizens year 2022.   To make sure they reach their target of Canada welcoming 15000 Parents and Grandparents, the IRCC will send 23,100 invitations to potential sponsors this week. Following the same strategy used for the 2021 intake, IRCC will randomly pick a small number of possible sponsors from the pool of 2020 submissions. In addition, for the tax years 2020 and 2021.   The sponsors must achieve a Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) in order to sponsor parents and grandparents.   Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for 15000 Parents and Grandparents Roud.   One of the main requirements for PGP eligibility is Minimum Necessary Income (MNI). Only after expressing interest in sponsorship via the online form is this proof of required income necessary.  However, those applicants who are chosen and requested to apply but do not have the required minimum income will have their applications rejected. Determine the size of your family, taking into account everyone for whom you will be responsible financially once you become a sponsor, to ensure that you fulfill the minimum income requirements.    Income needed for the three tax years prior to the application date (sponsors applying in 2022) Total number of persons for who you’ll be responsible 2021 2020 2019 2 people $32,898 $32,270 $41,007 3 people $40,444 $39,672 $50,414 4 people $49,106 $48,167 $61,209 5 people $55,694 $54,630 $69,423 6 people $62,814 $61,613 $78,296 7 people $69,934 $68,598 $87,172 If more than 7 people, for each additional person, add: $7,120 $6,985 $8,876   Over the following two weeks, candidates are recommended to check the email address they provided on their sponsorship interest form. The sponsors, as well as their parents and grandparents, have 60 days to electronically submit a complete application.   Immigration Minister Sean Fraser stated that  “Family reunion is an important factor of Canada’s immigration system.” When parents sponsoring Canada 2024? The Canadian government offers an opportunity to citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents for permanent residency through the Parent and Grandparent Program in 2024. The PGP is a program that will enable eligible sponsors to bring family members to Canada. In 2024, the country will admit up to 15,000 applications for the Parent and Grandparents program. This intake is higher than in past years to address the current backlog and bring more families together. Sponsorship in this program requires meeting a specific income threshold and the ability to provide for the sponsored individuals without having to be on social assistance. Applications are highly competitive, and potential applicants must first express their interest through a lottery. How long does it take to sponsor grandparents to Canada? Applications under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) take a long time because of the high number of applicants and limited space. The Canadian government hosts between 15,000 Parent and Grandparent applications per year. These applicants are selected by a lottery process. Once invited, the time for processing can be affected by the completeness of the application, the applicant’s country of origin, and further verifications; in most cases, however, it takes about 20 to 24 months. The applicants are also subjected to financial eligibility criteria as a proof of supporting the grandparents during their visit.
