PEI issued 142 invitations through the PEI PNP streams

On August 17, 2023, Prince Edward Island held new draws under the PEI PNP streams.  PEI PNP invited 138 candidates in the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams.  Another four invitations were sent to Business Impact Category candidates. The lowest score for the business candidates was 102.  In total, PEI issued 142 invitations in this round. Ontario invited 2,835 candidates under the Human Capital Priorities Stream

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted two new invitation draws under the Human Capital Priorities Stream On August 16, 2023.  In the first draw, the OINP issued 751 targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with work experience in healthcare and tech occupations.  In the second draw, Ontario issued 2,084 targeted NOIs. Invited candidates’ CRS Express Entry score was between 473 and 516 points.  In total, the OINP invited 2,835 candidates in the two Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream draws.  In 2023, Ontario issued 31,247 invitations under all streams of OINP.  OINP all streams invitations of 2023 can be found here! The Express Entry Human Capital Priorities immigration stream in Ontario is part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). It allows foreign workers with the necessary skilled work experience, language abilities, and education to apply to live and work permanently in Ontario. Before you can apply to be nominated for permanent residence by the Ontario government, you must have a valid profile in Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) Express Entry system and receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario. What are the requirements for the Human capital Priorities Stream? You must choose which of the two federal programs you want to be evaluated against: Canadian Experience Class under the Federal Skilled Workers Program You must have at least one year of full-time paid work experience. You must hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. from Canada or the equivalent in another nation. If you finished your studies outside of Canada, you must receive an Educational Credential Assessment report to demonstrate that your education is equivalent to a Canadian credential. SINP latest draw invited 642 candidates from eight countries

On August 16, 2023, Saskatchewan conducted new rounds of invitations in the SINP latest draws and invited candidates residing in Ireland, India, Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ukraine.  The province invited 23 candidates from Ireland under the Express Entry category and 12 candidates under the Occupations In-Demand category.  Furthermore, Saskatchewan issued 224 and 207 invitations to Indian candidates through the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories, respectively.  Lastly, to support a recruitment mission to Poland, the province invited candidates residing in Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ukraine – 98 under the Express Entry and 78 through the Occupations In-Demand categories.  In total, Saskatchewan invited 642 candidates on August 16. SINP Application Processing Times for 2023 Updated on August 15, 2023, Saskatchewan updated the processing time of various streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Every quarter (three months), the processing time is revised. It displays the average time it took to process an application during that quarter. Each category’s time is measured in weeks. Processing times vary and are not necessarily a reliable predictor of future applications. The average time it takes to process 80 percent of applications is explained below. It is calculated from the time an application is received until the time it is processed. What are the SINP Application Processing Times for 2023? On August 15, 2023, the Government of Ontario held new draws in the Employer Job Offer Streams: Foreign Worker Stream (EJO FW), International Student Stream (EJO IS), and In-Demand Skills Stream (EJO IDS) of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).  The province issued 1,506 invitations to apply (ITAs) to the eligible candidates through the EJO FW Stream and 853 ITAs under the EJO IS Stream with a minimum score of 61.  Under the EJO IDS, the province invited 256 candidates with a minimum score of 26.  In total, OINP issued invitations to 28,412 candidates in 2023. The CRS score dropped below 500 on August 15, 2023, Express Entry Draw. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,300 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates under the Express Entry draw #262.  In this draw, IRCC invited candidates under all immigration programs. A study by the Northern Policy Institute found that last year, the RNIP helped boost Thunder Bay’s economy beyond simply assisting foreign nationals in finding jobs and settling into their communities. In one year the program offered:  229 jobs to its applicants,  generated 92 other jobs in the local economy, and  a total of $11.6 million in wages.  The RNIP is growing at a fast pace, welcoming 1,425 foreign nationals to gain permanent residence in Canada in the first half of 2023. The program’s effectiveness has led Ottawa to increase the number of foreign nationals allowed to immigrate to some of the communities in the program.  The RNIP aims to recruit skilled immigrants to work in smaller communities with aging populations and labor shortages through the five-year program, which is expected to become a permanent immigration program soon. RNIP welcomed 1,345 new permanent residents to Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia last year. By the end of the first half of this year, the program has already surpassed those immigration numbers by about 6%, granting permanent residence to 1,425 foreign nationals. “I’ve seen firsthand the importance of this program throughout our region,” Sudbury MP Viviane Lapointe said. “Not only has the program directly addressed gaps and challenges such as labor shortages, but it also continues to drive economic prosperity for our communities in ways that will have a generational impact,” says the program’s director. “I’ve heard personally from employers how helpful this program has been in attracting workers, growing and expanding businesses, and creating economic opportunities in our communities.” “From my perspective, the Rural and Northern Immigration Program has been an enormous success,” stated then-Immigration Minister Sean Fraser earlier this year.   What is the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot? The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is an initiative driven by the local communities. By offering a path to permanent residency for highly talented foreign workers who wish to live and work in one of the participating communities, it aims to expand the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities. The impact of global immigration on Canada, there has been a notable increase in migration to high-income countries, according to economists. Global North countries, including Canada, have seen a fast rise in their foreign-born population. Canada’s population growth rate of 2.7% in 2022 is the highest among the G7 countries and is among the top 20 countries in the world.  Canada’s population increased by more than one million people, marking the first time in the country’s history that the population has increased by such a large number in just 12 months, and it is the highest annual population growth rate recorded since 1957. This is the first year in Canadian history that saw a population increase of over one million, and it also represents the highest annual population growth rate (+2.7%) since 1957 (+3.3%).  Due to the large number of births during the post-war baby boom and the large influx of refugees after the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, the population growth rate in 1957 reached a record high. The cause of Canada’s record-high population growth in 2022 was considerably different because overseas migration was responsible for nearly all of the rise that was observed (95.9%). As it has been for many years, Canada will continue to have the highest population growth among the G7 nations in 2022. Canada would come in first with a population growth of 2.7% for the year 2022 when compared to country growth rates for 2021 from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the most recent data available for all members. Moreover, Canada’s population growth rate of 2.7% in 2022 would rank it in the top 20 nations in the world, based on the most recent data available for other nations (as of 2021). Almost all of the African nations have faster population growth rates. Such a rate of population increase would cause the Canadian population to double in around 26 years if it remained steady in the coming years.   The impact of Temporary immigration on Canada’s growth 437,180 new immigrants were expected to enter Canada in 2022, and there is expected to be a net gain of 607,782 non-permanent residents. The net expected number of non-permanent residents in all provinces and territories increased year over year in 2022, with work and study permits as well as the number of asylum seekers increasing overall.
