On March 7, 2024, Ontario conducted the Latest OINP Draw under the highly sought-after Human Capital Priorities Stream. This draw saw a significant invitation of 2,104 skilled healthcare professionals, reflecting Ontario’s commitment to bolstering its healthcare workforce. The Human Capital Priorities Stream is a key pathway for skilled workers looking to immigrate to Ontario, Canada. It targets individuals with valuable skills and experience, particularly in high-demand sectors such as healthcare.  In the recent draw, the OINP issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to healthcare professionals with work experience spanning 43 National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes. These professionals were selected based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Express Entry scores, which ranged from 352 to 421 points. On March 1, 2024, Ontario extended invitations to 2,583 Skilled Trades Stream Candidates candidates under the Skilled Trades Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). This particular draw was tailored to target candidates employed in 48 National Occupational Classifications (NOCs), possessing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 350 to 424. Notably, these candidates had created their profiles within the Express Entry system between March 1, 2023, and March 1, 2024, making them eligible for consideration by the OINP during this draw. Ontario will accept the Pearson Tests of English Core for all streams of the OINP

Ontario invited 4,452 candidates in the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program draws

On February 8, 2024, the Government of Ontario invited candidates through three Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) draws. The province issued 2,118 targeted notifications of interest (NOIs) to candidates with experience in Tech occupations under the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream. The minimum scores for this draw were between 471 and 480 points.  OINP conducted two other draws under the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream and issued 1,188 invitations to apply (ITAs) in the General draw of the EJO IS stream and 1,152 ITAs to candidates with work experience in Tech and Healthcare occupations. The minimum scores for these draws were 78 points and 73 points, respectively. Invited Technology occupations Applicants received an NOI only if they had a CRS score of 471-480 and work experience in the Technology Occupations stated below: NOC 20012 – Computer and information system managers NOC 21211 – Data Scientists NOC 21220: Cybersecurity specialists NOC 21221: Business systems specialists. On February 6, 2024, Ontario invited 2,086 healthcare professionals through the OINP-HCP Stream. It was the first invitation draw of the year under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Under the 3 OINP streams Ontario issued over 1480 invitations

On January 24, 2024, the Government of Ontario invited candidates via the 3 OINP streams. The province issued 1,344 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the Masters Graduate stream and 125 ITAs for the PhD Graduate Stream. The minimum scores for these draws were 50 points and 45 points, respectively.  In addition, the province invited 12 candidates in the targeted draw for the federal Economic Mobility Pathways Project under the OINP’s Foreign Worker stream. So far, Ontario has issued invitations to 8,122 candidates under all streams in 2024. Ontario-OINP application processing times for 2024 On January 11, 2024, Ontario updated the average processing time in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Currently, the OINP application processing times for 2024  for the different immigration streams are given below:  PhD Graduate and Masters Graduate streams are 30-60 days, and Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream is 60-90 days.  Processing time for Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream is 90-120.  The average processing time for Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream, and Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream is 120-150 days.  The processing time for Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) Assessment in the Entrepreneur Stream still requires less than 30 days, and  the application processing depends on the complexity of the business nomination application. The latest Ontario OINP Draw invited 1,654 candidates

On January 19, 2024, the Government of Ontario held the latest Ontario OINP draw in the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream (EJO FW) Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).  The province issued 1,654 invitations to apply (ITAs) in the General draw of the EJO FW stream. All invitees have their profiles created in the Express Entry system between January 19, 2023, and January 19, 2024. The minimum score for this draw was 50. In total, Ontario invited 6,641 candidates through the OINP streams in 2024. The January 9 targeted profiles for the previous OINP Foreign Worker stream had job offers in any of the 63 skilled trade occupations, 41 healthcare occupations, or 15 tech occupations. After receiving the invitation, candidates must submit their completed application within 14 calendar days. Ontario invited nearly a thousand French-speaking candidates to the new OINP draw

On January 18, 2024, the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) invited candidates to the new OINP draw in the first round of invitations in Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.  In this round, the OINP issued 984 Invitations to Apply for the Francophone candidates. The Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) range of candidates who received the Notification of Interest from the OINP was between 317 and 469 points.  The Express Entry profiles of the candidates were created between January 18, 2023, and January 18, 2024. So far, in 2024, Ontario has invited 4,987 candidates under the OINP. Canadian Immigration in 2024 Insights Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) plans to welcome 485,000 permanent residents in 2024. The Express Entry System will continue holding category-based draws, focusing on specific labor gaps. In the first year of category-based draws, the IRCC identified to give priority to the immigration candidates included: proficient in French recent work experience in any of the primary sectors, including trades, agri-food/agriculture, healthcare, STEM, and transportation In addition, this year, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), Canada’s largest immigration pathway, will introduce new guidelines and multi-year plans. The provinces and territories will have advance notice of the 2025 allotment as the IRCC releases new multi-year plans for PNPs, which will enable them to better plan their immigration strategies. Furthermore, the International Student Program will improve its Letter of Acceptance verification system and review the Post-Graduation Work Permit program. International students in Canada hope for a PGWP extension in 2024, given the limited options for permanent residency. By mid-2023, Canada had approximately 2.2 million temporary residents, with over 1 million holding work permits – which has almost doubled in a year. Ontario published the OINP application processing times for 2024

On January 11, 2024, Ontario updated the average processing time in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Currently, the OINP application processing times for 2024  for the different immigration streams are given below:  PhD Graduate and Masters Graduate streams are 30-60 days, and for  Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream is 60-90 days.  Processing time for Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream is 90-120.  The average processing time for Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream, and Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream is 120-150 days.  The processing time for Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) Assessment in the Entrepreneur Stream still requires less than 30 days, and  the application processing depends on the complexity of the business nomination application.  The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) works with the Canadian government through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Foreign workers, international students, and others with the necessary skills, experience, and education can apply to the OINP for a nomination. OINP Skilled Trades Stream

Ontario invited over 2,500 invitations under the OINP Skilled Trades Stream

On January 11, 2024, Ontario invited 2,552 candidates under the OINP Skilled Trades Stream. The CRS score range of the invited candidates was between 350-424 points. Candidates who created their profiles in the Express Entry system between January 11, 2023, and January 11, 2024, were considered by OINP in this draw for 49 NOCs.  Candidates who received a notification of interest do not need to contact the program and can apply to the stream. In 2024, the province invited 4,003 candidates under all OINP`s streams. Candidates who had a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 350-424 and work experience in the following national occupational classification (NOC) codes were invited. It allows foreign nationals with Ontario work experience in eligible skilled trades to apply to live and work permanently in Ontario. You can be nominated for permanent residence by the Ontario government, but you must meet the eligibility requirements:  At least one year of paid full-time work experience. Language requirements.
